Position Overview The Supply Chain and Logistics Specialist supports the Supply Chain team in import and logistics operations, reporting to the Materials Supervisor. This on‑site role in San Jose helps drive scientific discovery by ensuring efficient supply chain operations. In This Role, You Will Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, support decision‑making, prevent part shortages, and optimize inventory through forecasting and performance tracking. Support the sourcing department by assisting in procurement from U.S.‑based and global suppliers and helping key team members with daily operations and strategic projects. Develop and maintain reporting systems and tools, including daily/weekly OTD reports and Kanban processes, to ensure production plans and operational targets are met. Manage inventory and material flow by identifying reduction opportunities, improving processes, and aligning inventory levels to meet On‑Time Delivery goals. Support on‑time delivery and customs clearance through exception reporting and discrepancy resolution. Serve as the first point of contact for customs broker inquiries, confirm availability of requested information, and coordinate responses. Partner with Trade Compliance to obtain and communicate information required for customs clearance. Coordinate with suppliers and shippers to obtain complete and compliant commercial documentation. Essential Requirements Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5+ years of experience in data analysis, procurement, inventory control, and planning. Familiarity with import documentation and customs clearance workflows, including experience with customs brokers and logistics providers. Strong ability to work with large datasets and present insights in a clear, concise manner. Proven experience managing complex tasks such as project management, forecasting, and planning. Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, and Oracle, strong attention to record accuracy, multitasking ability, customer service, and communication skills. Results‑driven and continuous improvement mindset, with experience in Kaizen, Kanban, and lean principles. Preferred Experience Supply Chain/Purchasing Kanban Import Logistics Compensation The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 – $100,000. This role is eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
