Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours (7 a.m. - 7 p.m.) Experience: Minimum 2 years as an ED RN License: Active RN License (Georgia) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, BCR preferred, TNCC preferred, National certification in Emergency Nursing preferred Must-Have: - Drip management: Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, Levophed - Phlebotomy - Telemetry monitoring - Strong teamwork and communication skills Description: Looking for an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The facility has 140 licensed beds and operates without a trauma designation. It features a chest pain center and is a remote stroke center. The unit consists of 22 beds plus surge beds, with an average census of 85 patients per day. Common diagnoses treated in the ED include chest pain, strokes, diabetes, abdominal pain, motor vehicle collisions, hypertension, and mental health issues. Patient ratios are typically RN to patient ratio of 1:3-4, and there are LPNs and CNAs available on each shift. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS, with BCR and TNCC preferred. National certification in emergency nursing is preferred but not required. The unit has strong teamwork and many long-term staff members. Floater opportunities may be available within the department. The facility utilizes EPIC for electronic medical records and has various advanced medical equipment available. Candidates must possess the ability to manage various intravenous drips and perform phlebotomy. Experience in telemetry monitoring is also required.
