As an eco-friendly, minority-owned company committed to sustainability and certified by EPA Safer Choice and Green Seal, we bring purpose into every facility we touch.We're looking for an energetic, detail-driven Safety Coordinator/EHS who's ready to champion safety, and protect our team. If you love keeping people safe, staying organized, and making meaningful environmental impact, this may be the role for you!What You'll Do as our Safety Coordinator/EHSAs our Safety Coordinator, you'll be a key leader ensuring we meet rigorous safety expectations while upholding Verde's sustainability standards and quality practices. You'll manage daily safety operations, training programs, waste-management compliance, equipment and fleet maintenance, and serve as the primary liaison for all things safety-related on site.Your work helps drive a culture of accountability, awareness, and continuous improvement-keeping our teams safe, informed, and empowered.Safety Leadership & CommunicationRepresent Verde in safety meetings-share updates, track action items, and follow through with internal teams.Provide managers with pre-job and pre-work documentation (including JSAs) and attend meetings for non-routine projects.Lead internal safety campaigns to promote Verde's green-minded, people-first culture.Ensure OSHA, Highwire, Green Seal, and other required certifications/programs are active, compliant, and continually updated.Manage and support incident reporting, ensuring proper documentation and corrective actions.Safety Training & Staff EngagementConduct daily safety huddles and join pre-job/pre-work meetings with frontline staff.Activities include Stretch & Flex, PPE checks, safety chats, and hazard reviews.Provide and review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to ensure staff understand procedures before work begins.Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in partnership with supervisors to reflect client updates and compliance requirements.Train staff on SOPs and maintain competency in all procedures.Keep up-to-date training logs for every employee and schedule refresher trainings.Support staff and managers on incident processes and clarify all safety expectations.Site Safety & AuditsPerform daily safety walks with supervisors to identify hazards and ensure compliance.Complete internal janitorial closet audits at PUSD and FAC.Maintain laydown areas and janitor closets using the 6S method.Respond promptly to ISEP findings and violations and implement corrective actions.Chemical & Environmental SafetyVerify all chemicals are client approved and Green Seal certified.Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all products.Waste & Compliance ManagementOversee daily waste-related operations, including scheduling pickups for recycling, compost, and general waste.Manage recycling programs, including baler operation.Collect universal waste and shredded paper.Request and track Outbound Asset Material (OAM) forms and maintain an updated daily Compliance Record.Record and report waste-diversion data-supporting Verde's environmental goals.Fleet & Equipment MaintenanceOversee vehicle-maintenance schedules and keep fleet logs fully compliant.Schedule and track routine vehicle service each quarter (March, June, September, December).Maintain service and usage logs for all machines and equipment.Ensure the golf cart is secured, charged, and well-maintained.What We're Looking ForExperience in safety coordination, facilities services, industrial environments, or similar roles preferred.OSHA Certification (required).Valid Driver's License (required).Strong communication and leadership skills-able to train, motivate, and engage frontline teams.Excellent organizational skills (you'll be the keeper of logs, schedules, compliance records, and more).Physical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to perform daily site walks and inspections.May require lifting, bending, or moving equipment during training or inspections.Work takes place indoors (offices, guardhouses, warehouse) and outdoors (FAB and site facilities).Why Verde?At Verde, the Safety Coordinator isn't just a box-checking role, it's essential to creating healthier spaces for people and making measurable environmental impact.
