A rapidly growing, privately held, PE‑backed, multi‑location healthcare organization is seeking a hands‑on Controller to lead the accounting function during a period of significant growth and operational scale. This role will serve as the senior accounting authority for the business and will be heavily relied upon for technical accounting expertise, audit leadership, and team accountability. This is a high‑impact position suited for a CPA with a strong public accounting foundation, experience in PE‑backed environments, and a track record of progression and increasing responsibility. High visibility and ownership over accounting operations, close, audits, and controls Leadership team relies heavily on this role for accounting judgment and execution Ability to influence systems, processes, and team development Hybrid schedule with consistent in‑office collaboration Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the monthly close process, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements Drive initiatives to reduce and streamline the close timeline Oversee accounting operations across a multi‑location, multi‑entity structure Ensure GAAP‑compliant financial reporting and strong documentation Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and manage audits end‑to‑end Ensure audit readiness and maintain strong internal controls Provide technical accounting leadership, including guidance on revenue recognition ( ASC 606 experience a plus ) Lead, develop, and hold the accounting team accountable for accuracy and deadlines Partner closely with executive leadership to support business decisions and growth initiatives Support and lead future system improvements and ERP implementation efforts Formalize and improve accounting processes and procedures to support scalability Participate in PE‑related initiatives, including due diligence and transaction support when applicable Required Qualifications Active CPA required 10+ years of progressive accounting experience Career foundation in public accounting (Big Four strongly preferred; large regional firms considered) Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibility and leadership Experience working in a PE‑backed environment Prior exposure to PE transactions, including due diligence or PE firm transitions Strong experience managing month‑end close and financial reporting Proven people leadership experience with the ability to enforce accountability Comfortable working extra hours when needed to meet deadlines Who Will Be Successful CPAs who are hands‑on and execution‑oriented, not purely supervisory Accounting leaders comfortable being the primary source of accounting expertise Professionals who enjoy building structure, improving processes, and scaling teams Leaders with strong ownership mentality and discipline around deadlines Candidates energized by growth, complexity, and private equity environments #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
