Job Summary As an Assistant teacher you will report to the Director of the School, assist the lead teacher in the lesson planning and executing of the curriculum in the classroom making sure children learn in a loving, nurturing environment. Apply today, Let’s grow BIG together! Responsibilities Assists in managing classroom ensuring compliance with all regulations, company standards, policies and procedures. Provides a welcoming & friendly classroom environment for children, parents & visitors. Assists in maintaining attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and an educational and informative Parent Board that is updated regularly. Assists in creating and implementing thorough, timely lesson plans that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with Celebree’s curriculum. Assists in all housekeeping duties and classroom management. Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels’ children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques. Ensures that appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom is appropriately maintained. Assists in completing all classroom paperwork as per required by Celebree. Attends all team meetings, trainings and School events as requested; limits unscheduled absences. Present a positive and professional image at all times adhering to uniform requirements. Able to communicate with our families using the tools provided sharing insights, updates, and progress on their child's development. Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the classroom/School and works with the Lead teacher and Director to resolve. Maintains confidentiality regarding families, co-workers, and self. Qualifications This position requires entry level knowledge and understanding of behavioral and developmental stages of children; working knowledge of State licensing regulations; ability to assist in the management of a classroom including strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and problem solving skills; patience and flexibility. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. Requirement Two years' experience as assistant teacher preferred. Minimum 21 years of age. Energetic, enthusiastic, loving and with passion to work with kids. Effective communication skills verbal and written. Certification in CPR and First Aid. Ability and flexibility in working with various age groups. CDA or Early Childhood certifications preferred. Physical Demands The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
