Plant ControllerThe Plant Controller is the financial partner to the Plant Manager and facility leadership team. This role owns plant-level financial performance — connecting day-to-day operational activity to financial results — and manages all accounting functions for the facility including AP, invoicing, supplier settlements, and month-end close.Reports To: Plant ManagerSupervises: N/AEssential Responsibilities:Financial Performance & AnalysisMonitor and explain key metrics: Gross Margin $/lb, Cost $/lb, throughput, yield, labor efficiency, and purchasing performanceIdentify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve plant profitabilityDevelop and distribute weekly and monthly KPI reportingPartner with Plant Manager and department leaders on operational decisions and financial impactBudget & Spending OversightMaintain responsibility for the facility's fixed asset records, ensuring all equipment and other capital assets are accurately tracked, properly documented, and kept current in accordance with company policies.Monitor budget-to-actual performance and escalate significant variancesReview purchasing activity and coding through ProcurifySupport department leaders with forecasting and budget planningAccounting & TransactionsOwn accounts payable, customer invoicing, supplier settlements, and accounts receivableMaintain account reconciliations and supporting documentationSupport month-end close and financial statement preparationEnsure compliance with company policies and internal controlsPlant LeadershipServe as the primary financial liaison between the facility and Corporate Controller. Collaborate to ensure accurate, timely, and complete financial information is communicated for reporting, analysis, budgeting, and financial statement consolidation.Translate operational performance into clear financial information for non-financial leadersParticipate in continuous improvement and future ERP implementation effortsFollow 5S foundations for lean production processesRequirementsEducation And/Or ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field3–7 years of accounting, finance, cost accounting, or manufacturing operationsManufacturing, metals, recycling, foundry, or industrial environmentStrong Excel, ERP, and reporting systems; cost accounting and inventory transactions are a plusCompetenciesSelf-starter that takes initiative with a high attention to detailStrong interpersonal, communication and organization skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically ExcelAbility to multitask and adhere to deadlines.Physical Demands And Work EnvironmentPhysical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairsPhysical Requirements: Sedentary work.
