Customer Service Representative - Technical Products

Location: Northwest Atlanta Area

Schedule: Full-Time Onsite

Compensation: $42,000-$44,000 annually

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and growing distributor serving the HVAC, building automation, and industrial markets , is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join its team.

This position goes beyond a traditional customer service role. While this is not a Technical Support position, the successful candidate will need strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn how HVAC equipment, parts, and components work together.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping customers, solving problems, researching products, and learning the technical side of a specialized industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service by phone, email, and in person
• Enter and process customer orders accurately using ERP/order management systems
• Assist customers with product questions and help identify appropriate products for specific applications
• Research parts and equipment using vendor websites, catalogs, product specifications, and equipment breakdowns
• Read and interpret product spec sheets to locate relevant part and equipment information
• Develop an understanding of HVAC equipment, components, and how they function together within a system
• Coordinate with sales and warehouse teams to ensure timely order fulfillment
• Track orders and shipments and communicate updates to customers
• Process returns and assist with problem resolution
• Manage multiple customer needs and software platforms simultaneously
• Assist walk-in customers with orders and product needs

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service, inside sales, distribution, or related experience
• Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn technical products and systems
• Ability to research information and apply product knowledge to customer needs
• Comfortable reading product specifications, catalogs, and technical product information
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable multitasking across multiple software platforms
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Experience with ERP, order entry, CRM, or similar business systems
• Dependable, professional, and team-oriented

Preferred Experience

• HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation, industrial, automotive parts, or other technical product experience
• Distribution or supply chain experience
• Salesforce experience
