Pipefitter JourneymanThe Pipefitter Journeyman modifies, assembles, installs, welds, and tests piping systems on marine vessels following blueprints, layouts and work orders, while using hand tools and shop machines.Essential Functions / DutiesReads job specifications to accomplish requirementsAbility to read all blueprints and other documentationAbility to accomplish Piping modifications and new installations with no supervisionAccomplish all type of testing, hydro and airMust be able to bend, thread piping, and weldSet up all phases of Hot WorkKnowledge / Skills· Must follow all Safety and Company Policies· Ability to accomplish testing of all systems· Ability to troubleshoot drawing problems and provide solutions· Employee must be able to properly set up brazing/cutting equipment onboard a ship· Able to operate various equipment, benders/threaders etc.· Have knowledge of all types of piping systemsCompetencies· Communication Proficiency· Flexibility (Job duties & schedule)· Work well with others in all areas· Follow verbal/written instructions· Able to work independently· Teamwork orientationRequired Education and ExperienceMust have a minimum of 4 + years of ship repair experience and qualificationsHigh school or equivalentKnowledge of marine piping systems, blueprint readings, Silver-brazing procedures and military specifications
