What You'll DoAs a Backend Engineer, you will design and deliver scalable backend services that power Veeva Ostro's SaaS platform. In this role, you'll balance high-velocity delivery with long-term code health, building impactful features while championing clean architecture, rigorous testing, and low technical debt.Architect and scale high-performance APIs for Veeva Ostro's SaaS platformPartner cross-functionally to design and ship new featuresProvide technical feedback on product roadmaps and feature scopingChampion quality through peer reviews, unit testing, and clean architectureOptimize application and database performance to handle growthEvaluate emerging backend technologies to improve engineering practicesTroubleshoot and resolve live system issues to maximize uptimeRequirements5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production code for B2B or B2C SaaS products5+ years of deep expertise in Python and frameworks like DjangoStrong proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQLExcellent communication and cross-functional teamwork skillsInterviewing with VeevaWe value your time and believe in a transparent hiring process.
