RN Unit Manager – Avante Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Avante at Mt. Dora Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an RN Unit Manager to supervise the day‐to‑day nursing activities during their tour of duty in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role reports to the Director of Nursing and is responsible for ensuring the highest degree of quality care at all times. Why Avante? Benefits Competitive Compensation Comprehensive insurance coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision, and more) Strong retirement plan Paid time off & holidays Tuition reimbursement Health & wellness programs Employee recognition programs (including an annual cruise) A collaborative work environment (employee surveys, check‑ins, town halls) Advancement opportunities Qualifications Current, active RN license in good standing in the applicable state Current CPR certification Excellent verbal, written, and reading proficiency in English Previous experience in a hospital, long‑term care, or related healthcare facility Knowledge of general, rehabilitative, and restorative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long‑term care facilities Ability to provide care appropriate to the age‑related needs of residents Supportive team member who contributes and exemplifies teamwork Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant Skill in dealing tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the general public Leadership and supervisory ability, working harmoniously with and supervising other personnel Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to provide quality care Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm for handling difficult residents Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into nursing practices Ability to convey information concerning a resident’s condition Education and Experience Minimum of a nursing degree from an accredited college or university Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices Current CPR certification Background Screening Requirement This position requires background screening through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
