Overview of Responsibilities As the Assistant Produce Manager, you help customers make healthy food choices by providing excellent customer service through managing and leading one of the busiest teams in our store. Assist the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit. Handle ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team. Coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork. Maintain freshness standards throughout the department by following proper receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation of a complete variety of items. Lead a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers. Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Produce team. Unload and sort store deliveries, operate, and maintain produce equipment. Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Produce team members are following these procedures. Qualifications To be an Assistant Produce Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market you must: Be at least 18 years old and have basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures. Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Show an outgoing and friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers. Have good communication skills, take direction, and participate in a team environment. Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work areas (tables, floors, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.). Adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations, including COOL, and maintain a Food Handlers permit. Be physically capable of standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the day and lifting, stacking, and maneuvering heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up to 3 feet for between 10–50 hours without mechanical assistance. Use a pallet jack to move pallets a distance up to 20 feet, requiring a force of up to 85 pounds for up to 5 hours. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $19.55 – $29.25 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
