Position Title Clinical Pharmacist – Biologics Location: Shepherdsville, KY (Onsite, Mon–Fri, 8:00‑5:00pm) Job Summary The Clinical Pharmacist plays a critical role at the intersection of clinical excellence, patient advocacy, and pharmacy operations. This role goes beyond dispensing medication by focusing on patient safety, quality, and personalized care for patients receiving complex specialty therapies. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive clinical reviews of pharmacotherapy for each patient, including drug utilization, counseling, compliance, drug interaction screening, side‑effect profiling, and drug administration support. Document pharmacotherapy review results in the patient chart and communicate findings to nursing teams. Counsel patients on new drug therapy in accordance with clinical management models and ensure they understand therapy specifics. Complete REMS training and follow program SOPs. Coordinate patient care with the referring clinician and facilitate customized services such as pre‑filled syringes and color‑coded labeling. Serve as liaison between patients, caregivers, home‑health and hospice nurses, and prescribing clinicians for Biologics services. Provide subcutaneous teaching support for patients and caregivers. Coordinate nursing services as needed and provide on‑call coverage as directed by the Pharmacist‑in‑Charge. Process prescriptions accurately and timely. Verify discontinuation of service for each patient, deactivate patient charts, prescriptions, and software profiles as appropriate, and inform the Patient Support group. Implement clinical management models for products and disease states. Serve as primary intake for all new team referrals initiated by telephone. Adhere to company policy regarding Medicaid and Medicare, state and federal pharmacy laws, and controlled substance regulations. Verify prescription order accuracy, correct errors early in the workflow, and ensure QA checks of final dispensed products. Assist pharmacy technicians with claims adjudication to ensure accurate payment. Monitor hazardous waste management and supervise aseptic technique of pharmacy personnel. Oversee cell and gene dispensing processes in compliance with regulations and manufacturer requirements. Maintain professional CE requirements and support staff professional development. Maintain a culture of continuous learning and self‑education in pharmacy practices. Required Qualifications PharmD from an accredited pharmacy school. Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Kentucky. Minimum 4+years of post‑graduate pharmacist experience. Multistate licensure or willingness to obtain additional state licenses (e.g., TX, NC, MA, VA). Preferred Qualifications Experience in specialty pharmacy, complex therapies, or patient care management. Comfort working in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment. Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, compliance, and specialty pharmacy workflows. Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills. Benefits & Compensation Competitive compensation: $60‑65 per hour, with 5% MIP bonus eligibility. Base pay range: $51.38‑85.64 (dependent on experience and market).
