Maintenance Technician

Responsible for repairing and maintaining plant equipment, building structure and fixtures.

Functional Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain plant equipment, physical structures and fixtures
• Inspect machinery and equipment
• Make machinery and building repairs and modifications
• Read blueprints, drawing manuals or specifications
• Operate and repair plant support equipment
• Handle repairs and coordinate with contractors
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs
• Assist production and/or shipping when no other maintenance activities can be performed or when assistance is needed due to high demand or urgent jobs
• Accurately complete daily records
• Operate forklift
• Carry out physical demands of the job
• Meet all safety requirements and regulations
• Ensure safe equipment operation
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ensure a clean and orderly work environment
• Develop a flexible approach to a team environment
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Other work as assigned by supervisor
• Assist in new employee training

Educational Qualifications

• Grade 12 Education
• Experience operating a forklift & working in a production/manufacturing environment
• 5+ years maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
