This full-time CV Sonographer position is responsible for performing diagnostic cardiovascular examinations in accordance with physician orders and department protocols. The role involves generating preliminary reports for physician interpretation, charting and charging procedures electronically, and collaborating with multiple professional disciplines to ensure safe, effective patient care. The CV Sonographer will interact directly with cardiologists, referring physicians, and patients while maintaining the highest professional standards. This position often operates without direct supervision and requires outstanding work ethic, integrity, and critical thinking skills.

• Pay Range: $34.00 – $48.55/hr

Job Duties

• Performs diagnostic cardiovascular examinations per physician orders and according to department protocols
• Generates preliminary reports for physician interpretation
• Reviews physician reports; charts and charges procedures electronically
• Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care
• Effectively interacts with patients and significant others while maintaining professional standards
• Interacts with cardiologists and referring physicians according to applicable departmental policies regarding critical findings
• Interacts with managers to discuss significant findings, clinical situations, workflow status, and equipment malfunctions
• Performs non-ultrasound tests including stress tests, ambulatory cardiac monitoring, and EKGs
• Collaborates with outlying medical facilities to provide cardiac monitoring services
• Directs and coordinates office services and related activities
• Interacts with physicians, physician offices, and Centralized Scheduling
• Operates multiple computer systems
• Reconciles charge errors with the Business Office
• Assists Medical Records staff in gathering required data
• Assists with supply acquisition
• Attends required training programs and staff meetings and completes computer-based learning lessons
• Available for on-call status as scheduled, after normal operating hours, on weekends, and on holidays

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 1 year on-the-job training, or graduate of an accredited ultrasound school
• Must be registered in both Adult Cardiac and Vascular Sonography by ARDMS or CCI
• RDCS or RCS in adult echo, and RVT or RVS in vascular ultrasound, or one of these in combination with another ultrasound registry (e.g., general)

• CPR certification required
