Sterile Processing Technician

Schedule

This is a 5x8-hour contract position, working Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with holiday rotation required.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of surgical instruments and equipment. In this position, you will be responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and wrapping of surgical tools according to established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and sterilize surgical instruments according to hospital protocols.
• Assemble and wrap instruments and sets for surgeries.
• Conduct sterilization testing and monitoring to ensure equipment efficacy.
• Manage the inventory of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to meet their needs.
• Potentially float to other facilities or departments as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Sterile Processing Tech experience.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility is required.
• National certification (CBSPD and/or HSPA) is required.
• Experience in sterilization, decontamination, and wrapping.
• Preferred experience in Neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN cases.
