Custodian - Full-Time

Custodian Performs various custodial tasks to ensure the cleanliness of college facilities. Work hours are from 2:00 am to 10:00 am Monday - Friday. Overtime may be required for special events. The pay rate starts at $13.50 per hour. Responsibilities 95% Performs general custodial duties of all buildings. Routine duties include but are not limited to the following: empties, sanitizes, and relines trash receptacles sweeps and mops floors cleans and sanitizes bathroom and bathroom fixtures and refills disposable items vacuums rooms with carpeting strips, scrubs, seals and buffs tile floors 5% Performs other job related duties as assigned. Practices workplace safety; follows directions for properly using cleaning supplies and equipment. Maintains building security by ensuring areas are secured and locked as cleaning assignments are complete. Provides a high level of service to the campus community. Qualifications Up to six months of similar or related experience. Two years responsible experience in a similar custodial job preferred. No high school degree required. Normal courtesy in dealing with others required. Must be able to operate cleaning equipment. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in English. Must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn institutional software programs and systems. Moderate physical exertion is required including walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, twisting, stretching, and reaching.
