Lead Software DeveloperAt OpenBCI we are building the next generation of high-quality human-computer interfaces. We are a growing team of ambitious engineers, designers, and scientists. We are on the lookout for an experienced Software Developer with a passion for biosensing, brain-computer interfaces, and platform architecture. The Lead Software Developer will be responsible for managing a team of talented engineers and guide the creation of new and existing OpenBCI software products.The base salary range is $140,000 to $175,000, depending on experience.Please include the following information in your application:ResumeAn explanation of why you want to work at OpenBCIPortfolio or examples of past workPrimary ResponsibilitiesOversee the planning, development, and management of professional software, code repositories, and system architecture across platformsDesign, build and document scalable solutions to complex biosensing problems.Collaborate with hardware, firmware and software engineers to test and debug software systems.Provide maintenance and support for the existing OpenBCI products.Conceptualize high-level software system designDirect UI/UX feature improvementsDevelop and document workflow, policies, and other infrastructure related activitiesWear many hats. Be comfortable stepping outside your role to help others.QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science6+ years of professional software engineering and systems designExperience developing for all operating systems (MacOS/Windows/Linux)Experience with C, C++, Java, Python, Unity, Javascript and cloud computingExperience with AWS, Azure, GCP or other Cloud infrastructure providersExperience with software and firmware troubleshootingDemonstrated ability to implement and maintain complex software architectures and repositoriesExpert knowledge of git, CI/CD and Object-Oriented Design patternsUnderstanding of applied machine learning techniquesStrong interpersonal communication skills to identify and solve problems across teams and an open source community.Preferred SkillsIn-depth knowledge and understanding of non-invasive electrophysiological data processing (EMG, ECG, EEG)Developer experience with Head-Mounted Displays, AR/VR, and Human-Computer InterfacesIn-depth knowledge and understanding of handling image/camera/video dataAbility to develop and ship reliable SaaS productsBenefitsGrowth potential - OpenBCI is still a small team with lots of room for growth.401K matching up to 4% of salary.Equity - own part of a growing company.Incredible rooftop view of Manhattan
