Derick Mental Health Counseling is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Mental Health Counselor specializing in mood disorders to join our remote, full-time practice. In this vital role, you will engage in providing comprehensive mental health services to clients struggling with a range of mood-related conditions, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders.

Work Environment\nThis position offers a remote work setting, allowing you to connect with clients in a flexible manner while maintaining a strong and supportive virtual team environment. The role provides regular hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend shifts on a rotational basis. - Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mood disorder symptoms, including their severity, frequency, and impact on daily life. \n
- Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans tailored to their individual goals, preferences, and specific needs. \n
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to aid in clients' recovery and progress. \n
- Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care strategies to promote emotional wellness. \n
- Track and document clients' progress through ongoing assessments and adapt treatment plans as necessary to ensure continued effectiveness. \n
- Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, integrated care to each client. \n
- Stay informed on the latest research in mood disorder treatment to continuously enhance your therapeutic approaches and client support. \n
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of sessions, assessments, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines. \n
- Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities to elevate clinical skills and knowledge. \n
- Advocate for clients by helping reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and empowering individuals to articulate their mental health needs. \n
You will primarily work with adults experiencing mood disorders, who may also present with co-occurring anxiety or behavioral issues. Our clientele comes from a variety of cultural backgrounds and life experiences, adding depth and variety to your therapeutic engagement. Your role is crucial in fostering a safe space for clients to explore their emotions and facilitate their journey towards mental well-being.
Qualifications\n- \n
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. \n
- Strong foundational understanding of psychopharmacology and active collaboration with psychiatrists and medical professionals. \n
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds. \n

- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience with an emphasis on treating mood disorders. \n
- Demonstrable expertise in evidence-based modalities such as CBT and DBT, with a successful track record in achieving positive treatment outcomes. \n
- Experience in conducting intake assessments and developing treatment plans effectively. \n
This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 – 130,000 per year, accompanied by performance-based bonuses and a generous sign-on bonus.
