Job Title: Phlebotomist II - Lowell

Job Description

The primary role of the Phlebotomist II is to support various tasks related to blood and specimen collection, troubleshooting, training, and workflow optimization. This position requires a focus on maintaining specimen integrity and adhering to established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and specimen collection using straight and butterfly needles.
• Properly label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens according to test orders.
• Collect and store specimens as per established protocols.
• Clearly and courteously explain venipuncture and other collection processes to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Ensure accuracy by checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department training.
• Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results as needed.

Essential Skills

• Phlebotomy certification valid for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience.

This is a Contract position based out of Lowell, MA.

The pay range for this position is $25.50 - $25.50/hr.
