Registered Nurse - PRN

RN (PRN) – Pain Management, Riverside Clinic. Competitive compensation. General Statement of Duties Responsible for the daily operation of the spine center as well as providing professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Assists the physicians with coordinating pre‑operative and post‑operative patient care. Essential Functions Provides general nursing care to patients in the clinic, administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Maintains exam rooms, prepares equipment, and assists physicians during treatment and examinations. Observes, records, and reports patients’ conditions and reactions to medications and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medication as directed and educates patients and families about procedures and medications. Ensures appointment preferences are respected in emergency situations and screens patients for appropriate information. Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Starts IVs for sedation and non‑sedation patients and monitors patients receiving IV conscious sedation safely and effectively. Interacts with patients and customers daily to resolve issues and concerns. Works in partnership with physicians, physician assistants, and back‑office staff to provide excellent customer service. Assists the practice manager with staffing, assigning work areas and shifts, and acts as liaison between The CORE Institute and partnering vendors for procedure/clinical operations. Collaborates with surgeons, surgery schedulers, and medical assistants to coordinate accommodations for the use of the spine center for special procedures. Responsible for ordering, receiving, logging, and inventorying all narcotic medications. Assists the practice manager in placing office and medical supply orders and helps with inventory management. Leads staff to efficiently direct patient flow throughout the clinic, assists front‑office staff with check‑in and check‑out, and supports medical assistants with rooming patients, procedure room turnover, patient mobility assistance, and intake of medical history. Assists the practice manager with clinic operations and audits, and trains and orients new employees. Leads ongoing quality monitoring of staff competencies and assists in training and education of all staff. Assists the practice manager in coordinating employee evaluations and administering corrective actions. Supplies supervision of all clinic staff and is the primary contact for front and back‑office staff. Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in recovery of patients after procedures and responds to emergency situations with professionalism. Maintains privacy, confidentiality, and integrity of patient and organizational data. Education RN degree; BSN preferred. Experience Minimum of one‑year professional nursing experience; clinic and pain management experience preferred. Requirements Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrates an ability to generate creative and innovative approaches to solve problems. Knowledge Professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices for patient care. Pain management protocols. Infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality policies and procedures. Front‑desk procedures and patient flow. Clinic payment policies and procedures. Skills Applying and modifying professional nursing principles to provide ongoing patient care. Identifying problems and recommending solutions. Using universal precautions, maintaining a safe workplace, and ensuring confidentiality. Preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to patients. Managing clinical staff and training/mentoring them. Delegating work duties and creating a professional work atmosphere. Abilities Maintain quality control standards. React calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Appropriately interact with patients, families, staff, providers, and vendors to resolve service issues and identify improvement areas. Use interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships. Respond flexibly to changing demands. Communicate verbally and in writing. Environmental Working Conditions Normal office environment. Some travel within the community. Physical/Mental Demands Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal clinic environment. Some bending and stretching required.
