Working out of our Lebanon Pines department and reporting to the Facilities Director, you will apply your skilled trade knowledge to handle a range of maintenance, grounds, and safety responsibilities across SCADD properties.Responsibilities include:Maintain buildings by performing routine painting and minor repairs to electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systemsNotify management of the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipmentMaintain grounds, including mowing grass, trimming shrubs, clearing litter, and keeping fences and walls free of vegetationComplete weekly fire and safety reports as assignedParticipate in safety committee meetings as assignedRemain available after hours to respond to emergency maintenance issuesReady all facilities for seasonal changes, including maintaining, installing, or removing air conditioners, and managing ice and snow removal supplies and equipmentClear snow, ice, and debris from sidewalks and parking areas at all SCADD properties as assignedParticipate in the orientation of new employees and the transfer of knowledge necessary for the performance of dutiesWhat You'll Need:High school diploma or equivalent; three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceSkilled-level experience in building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or related tradesValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (no or minimal infractions) requiredAbility to identify potential hazards and take action to ensure the safety of people, buildings, and groundsStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and respond to changing needs in a timely mannerAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environmentCommitment to SCADD's values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practiceWhy SCADD?Since 1966, SCADD has remained at the forefront of substance use disorder treatment, continuously evolving to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities across Southeastern Connecticut.
