Public Health Nurse Supervisor

Public Health Nurse Supervisor The Public Health Nurse Supervisor will provide daily oversight of one or more public health programs, ensuring compliance with public health standards and coordinating multi‑professional teams. Responsibilities Monitor program effectiveness and service outcomes; identify opportunities for improving nursing practice and service delivery methods/procedures; participate with management in developing and implementing best practices. Plan for, evaluate, and secure necessary equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor, control, and inventory supplies and equipment. Provide technical consultation and guidance to staff on complex client cases; conduct quality assurance and contribute to assessments, reports, and documentation. Conduct fiscal planning and budget or grant preparation, including strategic planning for budget or grant implementation. Ideal Candidate Strong people leader and communicator with experience leading a team and managing all aspects of personnel, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, performance improvement, and evaluations. Demonstrates subject‑matter expertise in programmatic and regulatory areas, knowledge of related public policies, laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances, and a track record of implementing simultaneous high‑priority projects with prioritization and workflow adjustment. Proactive in seeking information and leveraging available tools to solve problems. Qualifications Two-year public health nursing experience at a level equivalent to Public Health Nurse II (one year of lead experience preferred). Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited four‑year college or university. Possession or ability to obtain a valid California and Nevada Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record. California Registered Nurse license or eligibility for reciprocity. California State Public Health Nursing certificate. Valid CPR certification. Completion of child abuse and neglect recognition and reporting training as per California Health and Safety Code.
