Job Description Requirements:
- Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS and PALS certification required
- CCRN-Pediatric certification preferred
- 1+ years of PICU/pediatric critical care experience required
- Experience with critical care equipment and pediatric/neonatal advanced life support
- Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents requiring intensive monitoring and support
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as needed
- Administer medications, including titratable drips, per physician orders, accounting for precise pediatric dosing
- Manage and monitor advanced life support equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, hemodynamic monitors)
- Support family-centered care, involving parents/caregivers in treatment planning and daily care
- Collaborate with pediatric intensivists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
- Perform rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Educate patients (age-appropriate) and families on condition, treatment plan, and care needs
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient response in the EMR
- Maintain 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios per acuity and facility staffing guidelines
