Process Engineer

McKinley Paper’s Wisconsin Mill, located in the heart of “Paper Valley” between Appleton and Green Bay, is seeking a Process Engineer to join its Technical Department. As part of a proud tradition of papermaking since 1889, McKinley Wisconsin is dedicated to producing high-quality, 100% recycled paperboard and paper bags. The Process Engineer will play a key role in supporting daily operations, driving process improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of a historic mill within the McKinley division of Bio Pappel. Responsibilities Troubleshoot daily production issues related to process, technical, and systems aspects. Coordinate product development activities in collaboration with Production, Sales, and Corporate teams. Work with Engineering, Production, Technical, and Process Control teams to review and recommend equipment or process changes. Collect and analyze process data using statistical methods to support process improvements and trial evaluations. Identify and trial new process materials in partnership with Production teams. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers. Participate in cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects. Support weekend duty coverage as required. Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or a closely related field. 2 to 4 years of professional experience in a relevant industry preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with production systems such as Pi, ParcView, and ERP systems (especially SAP) is helpful. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear technical reports and present to small groups. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-engineering staff. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Creativity and intellectual curiosity. #J-18808-Ljbffr
