CMM Programmer Operator

Job Summary Responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect complex parts and assemblies, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications. Responsibilities Develop and write CMM programs using PC-DMIS from 3D models, blueprints, and engineering specifications. Set up and calibrate CMM equipment, fixtures, and probes for inspection routines. Operate CMM to perform dimensional inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products. Interpret and analyze inspection data, generating detailed inspection reports and identifying non-conformances. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to troubleshoot measurement issues and improve inspection processes. Maintain and perform minor preventative maintenance on CMM equipment. Participate in first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections. Ensure all inspection activities comply with established quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100). Train and mentor junior operators on CMM operation and basic programming. Contribute to the continuous improvement of inspection methods and technologies. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associates Degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a CMM Programmer Operator in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS, Strong understanding manufacturing processes, CNC Milling, EDM, and plastic injection mold assembly and operation. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and 3D models. Experience with various measurement tools and techniques (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators). Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed.
