Washington Programs Coordinator

Overview The Washington Programs Coordinator will coordinate assigned graduate programs for the John Glenn College of Public Affairs in Washington, DC. These include the Master of Public Affairs – Washington DC (MPA-DC) and the Federal Policy & Management Minor/Certificate (FEDPM). Serves as program support for the Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP). Responsibilities Coordinate the Washington, DC graduate programs (MPA-DC and FEDPM) and provide program support for WAIP. Provide professional development and internship placement for participants through individualized support and by cultivating strong relationships with internship hosts and alumni. Develop new internship partners, especially in national security agencies and firms; collaborate with campus partners including: Student Services, Advancement & Strategic Engagement, and Marketing and Strategic Communications. Provide primary support for alumni engagement through the alumni outreach committee, Young Alumni Club-DC activities, newsletters, communications, and related duties. Serve as instructor of record for program course(s) as assigned. Perform administrative, programmatic, and fiscal activities for the Glenn College Washington, DC office; represent the College at internal and external meetings; plan events and perform other related duties as assigned. Manage social media, website, and other promotion activities in collaboration with Marketing and Strategic Communications. Collaborate with Advancement & Strategic Engagement to cultivate alumni commitment and work with Development to increase scholarship funds for graduate students. Assist with the Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP) undergraduate program as needed, including recruitment, application process, pre-departure preparation, on-program support, and alumni engagement. Participate in alumni engagement and development activities in Washington, DC, including alumni outreach committee and Young Alumni Club-DC activities and annual fundraising campaigns for scholarships. Administrative duties including travel support, requisitions, expense reporting, spend authorizations, logistics and room scheduling, and other operational duties as assigned. Details Location: Washington, DC (primarily in-person with hybrid work options); travel as needed, including evenings and weekends. Employment type: Full-time Scheduled hours: 40 per week Shift: First shift Compensation Hourly rate: $21.35 – $27.88, determined by internal equity, budget, and candidate's education and experience. Possible geographic differential: up to 15% additional to base rate if applicable. Additional information: This position is primarily in-person in Washington, DC with opportunities for hybrid work. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field with 2 years of relevant experience in student services, event management, volunteer management, project management, and related activities; excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desired Qualifications Master's degree in Public Administration, Higher Education, or a related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
