Electrician II
Must be willing to work on call on a rotating basis with other shop personnel.
Perform journey-level electrical work including installation, maintenance, and repair of campus electrical systems and equipment.
Job duties include performing all electrical work assignments, assisting with special event setups and furniture moves, identifying irrigation problems, performing preventative maintenance and light repairs, participating in on-call rotation, troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment, providing technical support at sporting and other special events, performing routine housekeeping duties, resetting power supply during malfunctions, installing conduit and electrical equipment, operating university vehicle, complying with all state and university policies, and performing other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications include a valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License, knowledge of National Electrical Code and applicable laws, construction standards, mechanical concepts, and electrical systems and circuitry, skill in troubleshooting electrical equipment and diagnosing problems in circuitry, skill in use of trade equipment, tools, and calculations, and willingness to work after-hours on-call duty on a rotating basis with Round Rock shop personnel.
Preferred qualifications include previous employment experience as an electrician or similar in government and/or higher education environment, proficiency managing work orders using a portable electronic tablet/device, and use of AiM (AssetWorks).
