A growing temperature-controlled logistics and food operations company is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead daily production operations within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role is responsible for overseeing boxing, unboxing, repackaging, labeling, rework, and overall production flow while driving measurable performance in labor productivity, throughput, quality, and operational consistency. We are looking for someone who understands how to lead teams from the floor, maintain urgency without sacrificing quality, and establish accountability within a high-volume operation. Success in this role comes from execution, organization, labor leadership, and operational discipline.

The Production Manager is responsible for:

• Meeting/exceeding production goals
• Labor performance and staffing
• Team leadership and accountability
• Rework and repackaging operations
• KPI performance
• Quickly identify bottlenecks and operational issues
• Build accountability across production teams
• Lead and enforce sanitation, food safety, and housekeeping practices to ensure a safe and compliant production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operational Leadership

• Lead all daily production operations, including boxing, unboxing, repackaging, labeling, and rework activities.
• Drive performance in throughput, labor efficiency, quality, inventory accuracy, and production flow.
• Ensure production schedules are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements.
• Monitor staffing levels, allocate labor resources, and adjust workforce plans based on workload demands.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements to maximize productivity.

Labor & Team Management

• Supervise production leads and hourly production employees.
• Establish accountability and clear performance expectations.
• Coach, train, and develop team members while reinforcing operational discipline, safety, and quality standards.
• Support workforce engagement, retention, and overall team performance.

Quality, Compliance & Operational Excellence

• Ensure proper product handling procedures and inventory accuracy throughout production workflows.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, quality assurance, and cold chain requirements.
• Partner closely with warehouse, quality, and shipping teams to ensure operational consistency and customer satisfaction.

Reporting & Performance Management

• Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including labor productivity, throughput, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Utilize WMS and KPI tracking systems to support decision-making and operational visibility.
• Analyze performance trends and recommend corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of warehouse, production, packaging, food processing, or operational leadership experience
• Cold storage, food distribution, manufacturing, or temperature-controlled operations experience
• Experience with repackaging, rework, value-added services, or production operations
• Experience leading hourly production or warehouse teams
• Strong understanding of labor productivity and throughput management
• Experience operating within KPI-driven environments
• Experience with WMS or production tracking systems
• Strong organizational and operational leadership skills

Preferred Experience

• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
• Experience in startup or high-growth operational environments preferred
