Water Treatment TechnicianWe are seeking a Water Treatment Technician to support operations at a large industrial refinery facility. In this hands-on role, you perform water sampling, laboratory analysis, and monitoring of water treatment systems to help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. You work closely with an experienced team of eight, splitting your time between fieldwork in the refinery and technical tasks in a climate-controlled laboratory, with strong training and ongoing support.ResponsibilitiesCollect water samples throughout the refinery to monitor water system performance and quality.Perform laboratory testing and analysis, including pH, conductivity, and reagent-based tests, to evaluate water treatment effectiveness.Calibrate, operate, and maintain water measurement and instrumentation equipment in the field and lab.Conduct routine field walk-downs to inspect water treatment systems, identify potential issues, and report concerns promptly.Track, manage, and replenish chemical inventory and testing supplies to support continuous operations.Accurately document test results, maintain organized records, and communicate findings clearly to internal teams and plant operators.Collaborate with operations personnel to support wastewater and water treatment processes and respond to changing system conditions.Follow established safety procedures and protocols while working with hot water samples and in active industrial production areas.Work both outdoors in an industrial refinery environment and indoors in a climate-controlled laboratory, adapting to varying conditions.Contribute to a team-oriented environment by sharing information, supporting colleagues, and participating in ongoing training.Essential SkillsDemonstrated water testing experience, including pH testing and basic laboratory analysis.Experience with wastewater, wastewater treatment, and water treatment processes.Good communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain test results and system conditions to plant operators and internal teams.Comfort working in a heavy industrial environment, including exposure to hot water samples and active production areas.Ideally at least 23 years of experience in an industrial facility or heavy industry setting.Overall 24 years of relevant experience in water testing, environmental systems, or industrial process support.High school diploma or GED.Self-motivated, able to work independently, and driven to deliver accurate, timely results.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.Additional Skills & QualificationsBackground or interest in environmental systems, water treatment, or industrial process support.Experience working in refinery or similar heavy industrial environments.Ability to handle hot water samples safely and follow established safety protocols.Attention to detail when performing tests, calibrations, and documentation.Comfort with a role that blends fieldwork and laboratory responsibilities rather than focusing on a single task area.Why Work Here?You join a strong, safety-focused team that provides structured training and hands-on support, making it an excellent environment to build and deepen your skills. In the lab, you work in a climate-controlled setting performing testing, analysis, and documentation in an organized, technical workspace.
