About the Position

Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant Profession: Physical Therapist Assistant Specialty: Long Term Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours, M-F Experience: 1+ years of PTA experience; LTC or Rehab experience License: Active PTA license Must-Have: - Active State Licensure - Resume - Skills checklist within 1 year - 0-1 reference at time of submission Description: Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions. Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist. Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including, but not limited to, manual techniques; ambulation; therapeutic exercises; modalities; and the use of supportive and assistive devices. Assesses patient progress and communicates with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record. Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to supervising Physical Therapist. Provides consultation and counseling to patients and families regarding physical disorders. Effectively communicates with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans. Provides input to supervisors for discharge summaries of services as required. Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system. Maintains patient records according to company policy. Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided per all regulatory and clinical requirements. Participates in required meetings including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings. Participates in facility required trainings, in-services, and conferences. Works with supervising Physical Therapist to obtain necessary DME or supplies as required. Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist. Adheres to practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics during professional practice. Active State Licensure is required.
