About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified IMC RN in Council Bluffs, Iowa, 51501!

• Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Stepdown unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing common diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin per protocol
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips; tele/monitor techs are not available for strip interpretation
• Manage patients requiring CPAP and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment as needed
• Float to ICU when appropriate and based on experience
• Successfully pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%

• Active RN licensure
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; compliance is required as a condition of the contract

• Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• Experience titrating cardiac drips in a monitored care environment
• ICU experience or background that would support floating to an ICU setting
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced unit with high admit and discharge volume

• Work alongside a collaborative team in a dynamic, patient-focused environment where teamwork and a positive attitude are highly valued
• Gain experience on an active Stepdown unit managing a diverse and clinically complex patient population
