Paramedic – Full Time – Flex Centralus Health Ambulance (CHT) – Position: Paramedic, Code 232, Department: Centralus Health Ambulance (CHT), Non‑Exempt, Full Time, Region: Centralus, Exposure Category: High, Reports To: Supervisor of EMS. Document and Maintain Readiness: Complete accurate and timely patient care documentation; maintain ambulance, equipment, and station readiness, including restocking and infection control. Education / Experience Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. New York State Paramedic certification. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification. AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. NY State motor vehicle operator’s license Class D or higher for at least the prior three years. Completion of FEMA Independent Study Courses: IS‑5.a, IS‑100.c, IS‑200.c, IS‑700.b, IS‑800.d (or most recent versions). Preferred Experience in a hospital‑based or system‑integrated EMS agency. Associate’s degree. Valid International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification. FEMA ICS‑300 and ICS‑400 certifications. Physical and Other Requirements Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Maintain a driver rating of Acceptable or higher. Maintain a Quality Assurance status of Acceptable or Clear. Must not have any pending criminal charges that would prohibit employment or membership in the organization. Successfully complete the initial Member Training Program and probationary period. Continuously participate in Member Training and Annual Requalification. Meet minimum hourly or shift requirements as set by the Chief. Communicate effectively via telephone, radio, and in person. Interpret oral, written, and diagnostic instructions accurately. Exercise sound judgment and remain calm in high‑stress situations. Read and comprehend English‑language materials. Discern street signs, addresses, and environmental cues in varied conditions. Interview patients and others to obtain relevant medical information. Document all relevant information clearly and completely. Converse effectively in English with coworkers, dispatchers, and hospital personnel. Lift, carry, and balance up to 125 pounds. Possess good manual dexterity for precision tasks. Bend, stoop, crawl, and maneuver safely on uneven terrain. Operate efficiently throughout a full operational period without undue fatigue. Work effectively in varied environmental conditions, such as extreme heat or cold. Remain unaffected by loud noises, flashing lights, and other environmental stressors. Complete required tasks and special assignments as directed. Adhere to all operational safety standards, infection control protocols, and departmental guidelines. Annually submit a physician‑signed Health and Wellness Attestation and updated immunization record. Notify the Director of EMS in writing immediately (no later than 24 hours) of any incident that may render a member ineligible to provide care. Request reasonable accommodations for any reasonableness in written form; submissions will be reviewed by the Director of EMS.
