Maintenance Mechanic

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of index stretch, blow mold, and support equipment. You will perform processing and mechanical adjustments to ensure high-quality production output that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Serving as the primary point of contact, you will support, direct, and train others in equipment processing, preventative maintenance, and changeovers.

Responsibilities

• Follow all established safety rules and guidelines, and communicate hazards and safety issues to coworkers and supervisors.
• Complete all required clean room training and maintain compliance at all times.
• Observe production, packaging, and mechanical equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, to ensure efficient operation.
• Troubleshoot production, packaging, and mechanical equipment to locate and repair malfunctions.
• Dismantle machinery and mechanical equipment using appropriate lockout/tagout procedures to remove and repair defective parts.
• Determine and order appropriate materials and parts needed for equipment service/repair.
• Perform preventative maintenance and changeovers on machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls using schematics.
• Use blueprints, drawings, sketches, layouts, and equipment manuals to identify machine malfunctions.
• Inspect products for quality defects and notify the quality technician or supervisor of any issues.
• Perform all tasks in accordance with established safety and quality standards.
• Effectively communicate with all internal departments.
• Maintain housekeeping of all assigned areas and apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to meet plant goals.

• Proficiency with hand tools
• Knowledge of industrial equipment, especially in hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors
• Experience with high-tech equipment
• Electrical troubleshooting including 480 V systems, PLC/VFD, relays, breakers, and components

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Injection and blow molding experience is a huge plus
• Plastics experience is a huge plus
• Experience in pharmaceutical or related industries is beneficial
• Multicraft mechanic skills
• Industrial electrical experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years machinery operator/maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Excellent computer knowledge
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Adaptability to changes in the work environment
• Willingness to work all shifts and required overtime as needed

Work Environment

The work environment includes both day and night shifts. The day shift operates Monday through Friday from 7am to 3pm, while the night shift follows a 2-2-3 schedule from 6:45pm to 7am, with a $1 shift differential. Training involves working with a technician until you are comfortable, which may range from one week to a month, depending on individual progress.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $68640.00/yr.
