Advanced LPN | Family Medicine Clinic

This role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering comprehensive patient care including assessments, treatments, testing, and education. Ideal candidates are organized, professional, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, infection prevention, and safe handling.
- Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as ordered.
- Assist providers with procedures, maintain sterile fields, and manage instrument trays.
- Support examinations within the scope of licensure and perform phone triage.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and providers, including communicating test results and answering patient inquiries.
- Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs and measurements.
- Manage medication lists and summaries in collaboration with providers.
- Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
- Educate patients on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching.
- Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary authorizations.
- Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.
- Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and reliability in attendance and performance.
Education
Graduate of an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course.
Experience
Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
Certification and License
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the relevant state is required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Mental and Physical Requirements
This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Exposure to communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is common. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
