Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for a mechanical assembler position at a manufacturing company in Newtown CT. This is a temp-to-hire position.

The hours are 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $20-$25 an hour.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assemble electrical and mechanical components using work instructions, diagrams and basic drawings
• Solder wires, terminals, connectors and small components
• Cut, strip, route and terminate wires using wire strippers, wire cutters, lug crimpers and similar tools
• Install small components and hardware in tight or difficult-to-reach areas within an assembly
• Properly use torque wrenches and common mechanical assembly tools
• Inspect completed assemblies for quality standards
• Report damaged parts, assembly issues or documentation discrepancies
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Work independently while cooperating with production, engineering and quality personnel
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Mechanical assembly and soldering experience
• Experience using basic electrical and mechanical hand tools
• Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, diagrams and basic drawings
• Strong attention to detail, patience and manual dexterity
• Ability to use hands and fingers to install small components in tight or difficult-to-reach areas within an assembly
• Ability to inspect completed work and identify basic workmanship issues
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a team
• Able to pass pre-employment screenings
