Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Hinesville, Georgia.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ED - Emergency Department\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 7, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 2\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night shift position at a Critical Access Hospital requiring 2 years of ER experience and GA or compact RN licensure.Details\n \n Work in the Emergency Room of an acute care Critical Access Hospital (CAH), located about 40 miles SW of Savannah, GA\n 18-bed unit including 3 trauma bays, averaging 90 patients/day with peak seasonal volume up to 140/day\n Nurse to patient ratio generally 1:4-5 depending on acuity\n Treat general ER patient population including abdominal pain, lacerations, CP/SOB, stroke, psych, MVAs, trauma (stabilize and transfer), DKA, sickle cell, and STEMI (send out)\n Facility has a triage area where travelers may work based on experience, but no separate fast track or holding area\n ER nurses manage their own ER holds\n Two 'safety rooms' available for psych patients in lieu of dedicated psych/seclusion rooms\n Telemetry monitoring in every room except safety rooms; RNs must read and interpret their own strips\n In-house X-ray/CT available 24/7 with Radiology transport\n RNs and techs draw labs\n RT staffed 24/7 (1 at night); RNs must be able to troubleshoot vents, BiPap, CPAP, and other RT equipment\n Charting completed in TruBridge - Evident and T-system EMRs\n 12-hour night shifts (7a-7p rotation)\n Self-scheduling and block scheduling allowed, subject to manager approval\n Every other weekend required\n Holiday coverage rotated with permanent staff\n No floating and no call/standby requirements\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (GA or Compact) required\n Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC preferred\n Minimum 2 years of ER experience required\n Experience from smaller community hospitals preferred over CAH due to higher patient volume\n Must be proficient with IVs and drips, with ICU hold experience preferred\n Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment required\n Additional Information\n \n Charge nurse present on every shift and takes a patient assignment\n PCTs support the unit, assisting with vitals, lab draws, splinting, and general tech duties\n Both MD and mid-level providers staffed daily, with plans to add a third provider\n In-house security available on weekends, with 24/7 coverage in development\n Pharmacy in house until 5pm; resource nurse mixes meds using provided reference materials\n Unit/department orientation consists of 3 shifts\n Facility emphasizes strong customer service and patient satisfaction\n Facility will not accommodate schedule changes\n Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract\n Scrub color is Caribbean Blue, with scrub jacket in matching color or white\n Masking not required if vaccinated; face mask and shield required if unvaccinated\n Travel experience preferred but not required, so first-time travelers may be considered\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-747699.
