Cybersecurity Test Lead - Mid-Level

Position SummaryOdyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Cybersecurity Test Lead (Mid-Level) supporting the 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron at Eglin AFB, FL. The Cybersecurity Test Lead will help plan, manage, and execute Cybersecurity Developmental and Operational Test & Evaluation (DT&E/OT&E) activities for major DoD programs, ensuring mission readiness and compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements. This role supports multi-disciplinary test teams performing system security analysis on military systems and software to identify vulnerabilities across aircraft, weapon systems, cloud architectures, and traditional IP-based environments.This is a full-time position located at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, with approximately 25% travel.ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but not limited to: Cybersecurity Test Planning & ManagementManage cybersecurity test projects and program objectives with DoD and federal agency customers.Track team test requirements and support the team in meeting program objectives.Provide input to test plans documenting objectives, methods, and resources.Support development of program cost and schedule estimates.Become fully proficient in the Cyber DT&E Test Process/Guidebook.Cyber Test Execution & ReportingCoordinate test resources to ensure successful program execution.Oversee cyber test event planning, coordination, execution, analysis, and reporting.Support administrative and logistical preparation required for test events.Document and communicate test results to both technical and non-technical audiences in written and oral formats.Stay informed on emerging cybersecurity threats and update testing plans and procedures accordingly.Assist in developing cybersecurity test strategies for DoD systems.Team Leadership & CollaborationManage diverse cybersecurity test teams and provide oversight for multi-skilled test efforts.Attend meetings with customers to prepare test teams for upcoming events.Work both independently and collaboratively, maintaining strict adherence to security protocols and professional standards.Participate in 5–10 day test events, with extended or variable hours as needed.QualificationsCitizenship: Must be a US citizenMinimum Required QualificationsClearance: Must have an Active Secret Clearance Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field and at least 3 years of relevant technical experience in test management, cybersecurity, computer engineering, computer science, or IT systems — or equivalent combinations of experience and education.Certifications: DoD 8140 requiredExperience with DoD developmental and/or operational test processes.Experience with aircraft and weapon system testing and evaluation.Background in Aircraft, Weapon, Cloud, and/or traditional IP system architectures or avionics.Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience managing diverse teams.Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to work effectively in both small and large team environments.Ability to travel globally up to 15–20 weeks per year.Preferred QualificationsCertifications: CISSP, CASPKnowledge of Cybersecurity Assess and Authorize (A&A) processes supporting DoD acquisition via the RMF.Familiarity with industry cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).Knowledge of cybersecurity testing methodologies and tools (vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, risk assessments).Knowledge of the DoD acquisition process.Understanding of network security and network engineering concepts.Technical SkillsExperience in cybersecurity testing for DoD systems, including DT&E and OT&E.Ability to lead and coordinate test teams across multiple mission areas.Strong understanding of aircraft, weapon systems, cloud environments, and traditional IP architectures.Proficiency in developing and contributing to test plans, schedules, cost estimates, and test strategies.Familiarity with cybersecurity assessment processes, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, and risk evaluation.Working knowledge of RMF A&A processes and cybersecurity standards (NIST, ISO frameworks).Strong analytical skills for evaluating cybersecurity threats, trends, and associated risks.Interpersonal SkillsAbility to manage and guide diverse cybersecurity test teams.Strong communication skills with the ability to brief both technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to collaborate effectively with DoD organizations, federal agencies, and customer stakeholders.Strong initiative, professionalism, and discretion with strict adherence to security protocols.Ability to work independently and within team environments under dynamic conditions.Effective coordination and teamwork during time-sensitive test events.Additional InformationLocation: Eglin AFB, FLTravel: 25%Onsite#LI-SB1#TMAS3#CTG#96th Test GroupCompany OverviewOdyssey is a world-class technical, engineering, and integration company serving the warfighting ecosystem with airborne integration, ISR, C2, and warfighter readiness capabilities.
