Position: Associate Underwriter – Seattle, WA This is a full‑time, in‑office position in our Seattle, WA office. A hybrid schedule is available once training is complete. We are looking for people with: At least 1 year of prior insurance experience (commercial lines experience is a plus) Eagerness to learn and grow as a team Detail‑oriented with a strong work ethic Excellent computer skills including typing proficiency and Microsoft Office proficiency Associate Underwriter responsibilities Review submission information required to issue new or renewal quotes Rate and prepare new or renewal quotes as directed by the Underwriter Review and handle inspection recommendations and discrepancies Monitor various reports for consistency Assist with policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits Assist with accounting procedures such as invoicing Enter data into multiple internet‑based systems Benefits and compensation Compensation includes a salary commensurate with experience Most benefits available first day of employment Parental leave, adoption assistance, travel reimbursement, retail discount program, scholarship program for dependents of Amwins employees, and more Generous paid time off and company holiday schedule Collaborative, continuing‑education‑focused work environment The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
