Overview Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to support ongoing operations at Idaho Falls, ID. This position is contingent upon contract award and/or project funding. Candidates may be identified, screened, and submitted prior to award. Employment offers and start dates are dependent upon successful contract award, funding authorization, and client approval. The Project Engineer will support the efforts to plan project scope, identify and organize resources, and execute work for the CDP, applying management and engineering principles to the design, modification, and operation. Responsibilities Develop and review project plans and proposals and collaborate with management to determine project. Identify project priorities by determining the phases and elements of the timeline, calculate time frames, and sequence the stages of the project. Prepare and manage project budgets, including materials, labor, and other associated costs. Coordinate with different teams and professionals, such as contractors, business support services, and engineers to ensure all parties are aligned with the project objectives. Identify project risks, including analyzing and managing technical risks. Monitor project progress to ensure it stays on schedule and within budget, making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion. Communicate project progress to ICP and DOE management and stakeholders as required, through reports and other communications. Oversee the troubleshooting and problem‑solving process that will address project needs and issues impacting the project. Organize and archive project documentation, keeping detailed project notes and records. The Project Engineer will be specifically responsible for developing project‑specific documentation (such as schedules, cost estimates, project management and engineering documentation, and compliance strategies). The individual will develop project documentation as required by DOE directives and company standards and procedures. Additionally, the work scope will require being directly involved with project work activities and will require routine field work and interactions with management, support organizations, and stakeholders. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree. Qualifications Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Result of a pre‑employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a motor vehicle record check. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance. +5 years relevant experience in scientific and engineering principles associated with technology development, DOE facility design and construction, and/or facility closure. Preferred Qualifications Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred. Previous DOE/NNSA work experience. Experience working at a DOE facility and familiarity with DOE orders and requirements, specifically DOE O 413.3B and DOE‑STD‑1189‑2016, DOE‑STD‑1073, and DOE‑STD‑1104‑2016. Experience interfacing with multiple support organizations (internal and external) as well as with DOE and various stakeholders. Excellent problem‑solving, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to juggle simultaneous duties and priorities with limited direction and supervision. Ability to work effectively under short deadlines with rapidly changing priorities. Strong communication skills, especially in writing technical and project documentation. Work Schedule 4/10's (10 hours per day; four days per week). Why Omega Technical Services?
