Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Ketchikan, Alaska.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/19/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, rotating\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Rotating, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 19, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AK licensure and AWHONN/NRP certifications on a variable day/night shift schedule.Details\n \n Labor and Delivery unit position\n Variable 3x12 schedule with a minimum week-long stretch between day and night shifts, consisting of 50-70% night shifts\n Equitable weekend rotation required per schedule period\n Floating required 0-3 times per month, limited to helping hands, sitter/camera watching, or CNA-type duties within OB\n Patient ratio of 1:2\n Royal blue scrubs required\n Requirements\n \n Active AK RN license required, pending license accepted\n 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; LDRP experience preferred\n Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP\n AWHONN Advanced certification preferred\n EFM competency required via Intermediate AWHONN or Relias/Gnosis\n Charting system experience required (any system)\n Skilled in labor and delivery management including high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock response\n Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips\n Experience with neonatal care in delivery room including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation\n Experience with antepartum care including NST, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage\n Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement\n Two professional references from the past 2 years required, with at least one from a supervisor\n SSN and date of birth required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards\n Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including patients and families\n Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs and document accordingly\n Direct and delegate care to other team members based on their education and competence\n Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital policy development\n First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler\n Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration\n Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted\n Start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks if AK license is still pending\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-751251.
