Store Manager Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service. Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory taking, reconciling cash receipts, or in performing services for customers. Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods, calling on and visiting customers as required by the needs of the business or assigned by your District Manager. Generate new sales accounts by cold calling and visiting potential customers. Grow store profits with current customers by suggesting new products and promotions. Maintain and submit call logs as required by the District Manager. Accurately inventory, stock, and reorder when inventory drops to a specified level. Instruct staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales. Assign employees to specific duties. Hire, train, and evaluate personnel in stores, promoting, disciplining, and terminating workers when appropriate. Ensure responsiveness to requests and compliance with company policies. Run the store in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Perform work activities of subordinates, such as cleaning and organizing shelves and displays and selling merchandise. Attend virtual and in‑person meetings and training sessions. Perform other duties as assigned. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least 2 years of auto parts experience; management experience preferred; ASE certifications preferred. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills Basic computer skills including familiarity with web browsing and the Microsoft Office suite of products. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations A valid driver’s license with good driving record (Class E license is required for Missouri locations). Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision. Work Environment The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate. Legal and Safety Statements Equal Opportunity Employer.
