Buyer/Procurement Analyst

Technical Professionals Group is seeking a Buyer/Procurement Analyst who is a procurement, materials, and supply chain/logistics expert for North America's leading heavy-duty truck manufacturer in Portland, OR.With your help, the team and the department will receive correct parts at the right place and time. With your ability to coordinate with our expanding supply-base, the team and management will be well-informed to the status surrounding orders and deliveries. The right person will understand and manage suppliers and the demanding project expectations while informing and appropriately escalating challenges in a timely and pro-active manner. With your positive and can-do attitude, you will bring our team and our projects together making our processes state of the art for other departments to follow.ResponsibilitiesDevelop relationships with engineering and program management within various departments of the customer and development partners to understand technology developments, design changes and future business decisions within the global supply chainInterface with suppliers, PVE Build Shops, n Engineering, Launch & Change Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Accounting, International Trade Compliance (ITC) and Production and Aftermarket Purchasing teams to ensure timely and accurate communications of specificationsEnsure suppliers have complete plans and strategies in place to achieve delivery targets and fulfill all order requirementsFacilitate Supplier Performance Management, relationship building, and build an increased Prototype Supplier network via new supplier trials and portfolio diversification efforts.Procure relevant vehicle components and special orders, including support of Plant-Built Test Trucks, ad-hoc requests, and expedites where requiredManage quality and delivery activities with suppliers including target controlling and escalation stepsPro-actively report out "at risk" parts during truck build status meetings Apply critical thinking and innovative solutions to logistics issues Work on cross-functional teams to deliver results, including Summer Test/Winter Test, internal logistics teams, Plant-Built-Test-Trucks, or other larger test eventsSupport low-volume Non-Production Purchasing activities, as requiredInitiate and support continuous process improvements, within and without PVE ProcurementRecognize unfavorable supply-chain trends and work with leadership on containment strategiesKnowledge You Should BringBachelor's degree from an accredited university/college and 2-5 years of relevant experienceAbility to analyze, organize and summarize large amounts of data into simple or key termsAdvanced MS Excel knowledge and MS PowerPointDemonstrated analytical skillsAbility to communicate and make recommendations to managementAbility to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlinesProactive, driven, self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environmentExceptional Candidates Might HaveDegree focus in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Management or related field preferredPrevious automotive/industry experienceStrong communication and project management skillsDemonstrated Continuous Improvement MindsetExperience with order exception management and escalationExperience and familiarity with Wiring Harness CommoditiesSupplier tooling, Fab Shop, Existing Supply Base, Work Order Processes, Change Management, and Confidentiality knowledge and experience Company OverviewAt Technical Professionals Group, we are a dedicated team of automotive professionals with deep-rooted passion for the automotive industry.
