Production Assembler

Job Description

This role supports the fabrication and finishing of metal generator enclosures in either the Enclosure Shop, where enclosures are built, or the Finish Department, where final assembly and detailing are completed. You work hands-on with metal components, using hand tools and power tools to carry out daily assigned tasks that contribute directly to the production of high-quality finished enclosures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the fabrication of metal generator enclosures in the Enclosure Shop, following established production processes and quality standards.

• Support final assembly and finishing activities in the Finish Department, ensuring all components are properly fitted, secured, and completed to specification.

• Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, assemble, and finish metal parts and enclosures.

• Follow blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.

• Perform basic repair and adjustment tasks on components and assemblies as needed to meet quality requirements.

• Work collaboratively with production team members to meet daily output goals and support overall shop efficiency.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and handling of tools, materials, and equipment.

• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of required personal protective equipment, in both indoor and outdoor work areas.

• Provide general support to fabrication and production operations, such as moving materials, staging parts, and assisting with setup as directed by supervisors.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work confidently with hand tools and power tools in an industrial or construction environment.

• Hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: construction, carpentry, concrete work, landscaping, metal working, or fabrication.

• Capability to read and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions for fabrication and assembly tasks.

• Strong manual dexterity and comfort performing physical, hands-on work for extended periods.

• Attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly, alignment, and finishing of metal components.

• Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment at all times.

• Reliability in showing up on time, completing assigned tasks, and supporting production schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment.

• Experience in carpentry or general construction, providing transferable skills for metal fabrication and assembly.

• Experience with concrete work or landscaping that demonstrates comfort with physical labor and tool use.

• Exposure to metal working or fabrication processes, such as cutting, drilling, grinding, or assembling metal parts.

• Ability to adapt to working in different shop areas, such as the Enclosure Shop or Finish Department, based on skills and business needs.

• Willingness to learn new fabrication and finishing techniques under the guidance of experienced team members.

Work Environment

Work takes place in an industrial setting that includes both indoor and outdoor areas, with tasks performed in either the Enclosure Shop or the Finish Department depending on skill alignment. The environment is production-focused, with regular use of hand tools and power tools, metal components, and assembly equipment. Safety is a priority, and team members are required to wear safety glasses and steel-toe footwear while on the shop floor. Work involves standing, moving materials, and performing hands-on tasks throughout the shift in a busy, collaborative fabrication and finishing environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $22.50/hr.
