Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Assignment Duration

This is a contract position for 26 weeks.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical Telemetry team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical competencies, with the ability to manage a patient population primarily focused on medical-surgical care in a telemetry capacity. This role includes charge nurse responsibilities and may require floating to different units within the healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to adults and geriatrics in a telemetry setting.
• Administer medications and manage blood products and intravenous therapies.
• Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Utilize Epic for documentation and patient management.
• Perform EKG monitoring and interpret results.
• Participate in rapid response teams and handle emergencies as required.
• Educate patients and families on health management and treatment plans.
• Lead charge nurse shifts and provide direction to nursing staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Two years of previous nursing experience, with charge nurse experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage patient ratios of 1:6.
• Experience with Epic medical record system is preferred.
• Candidates must pass an EKG exam during onboarding.
