PBX Operator - Per Diem - Varied - Chula Vista

This is a casual, varied shift position located at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista. The schedule will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. As a casual employee, we would also ask that you be available to help cover holidays, PTO requests, and last-minute call-outs (we understand that last-minute coverage is based on their availability).

The PBX Operator answers calls and routine inquiries, routing to intended destination. Appropriately responds to and documents emergency situations, per policy and guidelines. Acts as a part of a team, including training new employees. Pages physicians, security or employees as appropriate via radio, pagers, computer, or over-head PA system. Follows all documentation procedures. Completes additional task such as sorting and mailing messages during downtime, delivering messages to physician offices and completing and distributing daily sheets.

Qualifications: Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Strong customer service skills, computer skills, and ability to work in fast pace environment using repetitive hand motion with the ability to multi-task. Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: Health care experience, and Call Center/PBX experience.
