Job Location: Angola, IN 46703 Position Type: Part Time Job Shift: Any Department Laboratory Job Title MT/MLT - Clinical Laboratory Scientists Shift PRN, As Needed (Any Shift) Summary / Objective Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientists perform complex laboratory tests on patient samples and help interpret data to identify and treat diseases. Essential Functions Follows laboratory procedures in preanalytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of laboratory testing. Performs moderate and highly complex clinical laboratory procedures as authorized by Laboratory Director with precision and accuracy and verifies the results. Calibrates, maintains, and troubleshoots instrumentation as needed. Resolves technical problems and ensures remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications. Ensures that patient test results are not reported until all actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properly. Monitors the recording and reporting of test results through the laboratory information system. Performs instrument maintenance and function checks. Assesses test performance through testing previously analyzed specimens, internal blind testing samples, or external proficiency testing samples. Evaluates and documents high complexity testing and re-evaluates to include the use of new test methodology or instrumentation. Is responsible for putting results into the laboratory information system and troubleshooting the system when it is not working. Prepares monthly reports including blood bank, laboratory statistics, and cost transfers. Performs Medical Laboratory Technician's essential job functions. Performs duties as assigned. Skills / Competencies Exemplifies good customer service. Maintains regular reliable attendance. Gets along with others. Demonstrates proficient use of computers, including MS Office. Education Must meet CLIA 88 requirements to perform moderate and highly complex testing. BLS required every 2 years. FIT testing not required. Certifications MT: Certification as a medical technologist by an appropriate accrediting agency, e.g., ASCP or equivalent, preferred. MLT: Certified as a medical laboratory technician by an accrediting agency: ASCP, AMT, or equivalent, preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
