Job Summary

40-hours a week Monday through Friday days. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of inpatient oncology RN experience. Bone Marrow Transplant/Leukemia RN experience is preferred. The Nursing Practice Specialist is responsible for developing educational programs, clinical decision-making, management of quality outcomes, and participation in research activities. Provide patient care in the clinical environment, health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and patient and family counseling activities.

Essential Functions

Provides expert-level consultation and advises clinical staff on the formulation of diagnoses and treatment plans for patients and families. Plans and delivers relevant staff and patient education to nurses and other members of the health care team on matters regarding plan of care for patient and family. Actively participates in research and evidence-based practice activities that will positively affect patient care outcomes. Provides health care services to patients. Forms a diagnosis and management and treatment of illness and disease.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing required and Master's Degree Nursing required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No. Licenses and Credentials: Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Clinical Nurse Specialist [CNS - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred. Experience: Clinical nursing experience 3-5 years required and Clinical education experience 2-3 years preferred and Nursing leadership experience 1-2 years preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: In-depth knowledge of clinical nursing care practices and principles. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in developing and implementing evidence-based care plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families. Leadership abilities to provide guidance, mentorship, and education to nursing staff. Ability to stay updated on the latest advancements in nursing skills and patient care through continuous learning and professional development.
