Packaging OperatorPay Rate $24.00 – $26.95/hr on W2Location: East Durham, NY 12423Duration: 06 Months2 B Shift: 7 pm-7:30 amJob Description:Operate our state-of-the-art fully automated toothpaste packaging lines operating at speeds up to 450 tubes per minuteHandle packaging materials (cases of tubes and cartons, bundles of shippers, rolls of labels and wrap, slip sheets, caps, corners, pallets, etc.) and finished goodsMaintain cleanliness of the area and the equipmentPerform autonomous maintenance activities to keep the lines producing at top performanceAssist maintenance technician on preventive maintenance activitiesConduct inventories of packaging materials and productsPerform all activities while focusing on safety and compliancePerforming transactions in our enterprise resource system (SAP) to manage materials from receipt to final productPerform frequent quality checks and accurately document the resultsDocument batch activity on computerized systemIdentify and action process improvementUnderstand and comply with all pertinent procedures, work instructions, forms, batch documentation and good manufacturing practicesSearch for cost savings and waste reduction opportunitiesBasic Qualifications:We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:High school diploma or GEDAbility to work 12-hour shifts, every other weekend offBasic computer skills (Data entry, email, file access, Microsoft Word and Excel)Preferred Qualifications:Manufacturing or Production environment experienceExperience with equipment/machinery maintenance and changeoversAble to effectively communicate and work with co-workers, management, and other departmentsAbility to routinely lift up to 55 pounds, stand, bend and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to work overtime to fulfill business needAbility to operate industrial power lifts (pallet jacks and forklifts)Confident in the use of basic math calculations, percentages, fractions, and decimal notationFamiliar with different measurement schemes (e.g. Kilograms vs pounds)
