Your responsibilities entail assisting fellow technicians in their daily tasks, ensuring proper preparation of raw materials, and executing extraction procedures in adherence to established protocols. Essential Functions: Assist in daily lab operations, aiding in the preparation of equipment and materials for extraction processes. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the extraction of cannabinoids from raw cannabis materials. Prepare and handle raw cannabis materials for extraction, ensuring accurate measurements and compliance with safety protocols. Clean and maintain extraction equipment and laboratory instruments to ensure optimal functionality and cleanliness. Assist in calibrating and setting up extraction machines as needed. Monitor and maintain records of extraction parameters, including temperatures, pressures, and extraction times. Adhere strictly to safety and compliance standards, including handling hazardous materials and following regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate documentation of extraction processes, including batch records, inventory logs, and quality control reports. Collaborate effectively with other lab technicians and team members to achieve production targets and maintain a cohesive work environment. Assist fellow technicians with their tasks and provide support during peak workloads or special projects. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of chemicals, PPE usage, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Participate in safety training sessions and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, or workflow optimization in the extraction lab. Qualifications + Education: Must be twenty‑one (21) years of age or older (18 in NY). High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must consent to a criminal background check. Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of the criminal background check. No prior lab experience is required; however, previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in cannabis extraction or a related industry, is highly preferred. Must have reliable transportation. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of or willingness to learn state‑specific cannabis laws and regulatory compliance is non‑negotiable. Strong interpersonal abilities for seamless collaboration across all company levels. Effective decision‑making skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail. Proficient in both oral and written communication. Able to prioritize tasks effectively and work in a heavily regulated environment. Starting Pay Rate: $20 per hour Mon - Friday Working Conditions: The employee works in either a dispensary and/or cultivation environment. The employee is required to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The position also requires a high level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency. The employee must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment, handling routine and reoccurring tasks. The employee will work in environments that include exposure to, but not limited to dirt, fertilizers, dusts, odors, fumes, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, heights, indoor A/C, no A/C, and other environmental variables. The position also requires a high level of scheduling flexibility and will occasionally include evening, weekend, and holiday work hours. The employee will encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday and must have a high regard for self‑management, time management, and scheduling of activities. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time, move around, and clearly communicate. The employee must constantly position oneself to move freely. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. The employee should have the ability to meet the physical demands of lifting, carrying and positioning heavy objects and should be familiar and comfortable using the assistance of push/pull manual transport equipment (ex: pallet jack, hand truck). The employee will often need to use a ladder, with up to a 12’ extension and general hardware tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
