Description
- Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment strategies focusing on both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
- Deliver engaging one-on-one speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Work closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to establish a cohesive approach to care.
- Provide education for patients and families to facilitate ongoing progress beyond clinical interactions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatments, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the healing process.
- Uphold precise and prompt documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Pursue professional growth by staying updated on the latest advances in the field through continuous education and peer collaborations.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment techniques for various age groups, with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Adeptness at tailoring therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic perspectives.
- Robust clinical judgment paired with strong problem-solving skills.
- Competency in maintaining electronic medical records and adherence to documentation standards.
